Recuerdos del molino



La piedra del Molino de Santana, el molino de trigo que existía en la antigua granja de Santana, actualmente ubicada en la ciudad de Usaquén, era una estructura compleja diseñada con el objetivo de aprovechar el movimiento del agua de The Mills Creek. Fue construido en madera, incluido su eje que también apoyaba una piedra redonda y, al mismo tiempo, que se usaba para triturar los granos de maíz, que se recolectaban en la hermosa sabana de Bogotá.

Seguramente funcionó hasta principios de los años cincuenta. Cuando comenzó la construcción del barrio Santana de Usaquén, en la carretera principal hacia el este, el acceso a este lado de la ciudad sigue siendo el nombre de la granja, la asociación que se sumó a los residentes mantuvo la piedra, que sobrevivió a la unión del desarrollo urbano. Como testimonio patrimonial de la ruralidad de este territorio.    

Memories of the mill
